Jam Band is an exciting, high-energy group class where young musicians ages 4–8 experience the joy of playing in a band! Students rotate through drums, keyboard, guitar, and vocals while building essential musical skills like rhythm, coordination, listening, and teamwork. Through fun, structured activities and real ensemble play, kids gain confidence, creativity, and a strong foundation in music— and perform in band from their very first class!
Our curriculum is designed to help children grow as confident, creative musicians while developing essential musical skills:
- Steady Beat & Rhythm
Children learn to keep a steady beat, recognize patterns, and play in time with others. - Listening & Playing Together
Students learn how to listen, follow cues, and make music as part of a group—just like a real band. - Instrument Exploration
Kids get hands-on experience with guitar, drums, keyboard, and voice in a way that’s engaging and age-appropriate. - Musical Concepts Made Fun
We introduce concepts like loud/soft, fast/slow, and high/low through games and movement. - Creativity & Confidence
Students are encouraged to improvise, make musical choices, and express themselves freely.

What we learn
Students learn how to play their part while listening to everyone else's — the foundational skill of band playing. They also pick up basics on multiple instruments through the rotation.
How class flows
Class starts with a rhythm warm-up together, then breaks into instrument stations to learn each part of the week's song, then puts the whole song together as a band.
What to bring
All instruments are provided in the band room. Bring a water bottle and ear protection if your kid prefers their own.
