What kids will do in Homeschool Harmony

What to Expect

A place where students will come together to extend their music education through a variety of group options. Students will be placed in groups according to ages and abilities. With group piano classes, ensembles, group ukulele and more — we have a place for everyone.

As students join us, we will adjust the programming to cultivate an experience perfect for all.

The Finer Details

Programming will run September through May on Wednesday afternoons from 12:30–2:00pm, beginning Fall 2026.

Fall Mini Unit: Fall 2026 we will include a mini unit for the month of September so that families can get a taste of the Harmony Hub with no further commitment.

The emphasis of learning will be in the group format. If private lessons are desired, additional fees will apply outside of the special group class pricing. Please let our team know if you’d like to explore this option.

All music and worksheets included; students will need to provide a 3-ring binder with 3 dividers. All in-class instruments will be provided; instruments for home study may be necessary for students who would like private lessons.

Pricing

Pricing will be a special rate to make high-quality music instruction more accessible for homeschool families.

The 4-week Fall Mini Unit from Sept. 9th–30th will be $80/child. This unit will carry no further commitment.

Fall Semester will run October 7th – December 9th. Semester cost for the 9 classes will be $180/child. There is no class on Wednesday, Nov. 25th. Commitment will be for the entire semester.

Commitment and Withdrawals

Music education is developmental in its approach, learning a new language through reading and playing. Staying in class has long-term benefits, but we also know that life is life.

Commitment for Mini Units is the full 4 weeks. Should you miss a week, you will be invited to make up your class in one of our regularly scheduled classes later in the afternoon.

Commitment during the school year is per semester in order to maintain consistent learning groups and progress.

Curriculum

Each class follows a consistent, engaging flow that keeps students focused while having fun:

🎶 Connection Time

We begin each class with a high-energy group activity — like a drum circle, rhythm game, or singing exercise — to bring everyone together and get our “rhythm and harmony” in sync.

🎼 Music Theory Foundations

Students learn essential music skills that apply to all instruments:

  • Rhythm and timing
  • Note reading and notation
  • Musical symbols and vocabulary
  • Listening and ear training

🎹 Instrument Learning

Students break into small groups based on age, with a variety of instruments taught — focusing on a few each semester:

  • Piano
  • Ukulele
  • Ensemble playing
  • Singing

Our focus is on making music as a group, building both skill and confidence in a low-pressure setting.

🌟 Sharing & Wrap-Up

We end each class by coming back together to share, perform, and celebrate what we’ve learned.

Each student is provided with a comprehensive music binder that is built upon each week. Piano students participate in the Keynotes piano program, which includes structured weekly assignments and access to online review videos. Students also receive instrument-specific repertoire and theory materials to support their overall musical development.

Why group classes

Three reasons kids stick with the studio.

  • Collaboration builds better musicians.

Kids learn faster when they play with others. Listening, timing, and confidence grow on the bandstand.

  • Lower pressure, higher confidence.

Group classes take the spotlight off any one student. Mistakes are part of the music, not a performance review.

  • More fun means more learning.

When students love showing up, they practice without being asked. The hobby sticks.

Frequently asked

Questions parents ask about Homeschool Harmony Hub.

Always. Every program offers a trial class. Drop in, see if the class feels right, then decide. No commitment until you’re sure.

Unlimited makeups. Sick day, sports tournament, family trip. All enrollments come with unlimited make-ups. No ‘use it or lose it.’

Not at all! Our classes for the littlest ones are full of activities that not only enhance child development but also ignite a love of music. It’s where lifelong musicians get their first nudge.

We offer year-round enrollment, so there’s no need to wait for a specific season to get started. Students naturally progress and level up throughout the year, and that’s all part of the process. We encourage families to begin whenever their child is ready—because the best time to start is now.

We know that schedules change, as do kids! We offer a variety of class types and times. We can work with you to find the right fit for your schedule. And if nothing works? You may withdraw with 30 days notice.

Fall 2026 launch. Daytime sessions during the school week, designed to slot into a homeschool schedule.

Less than you think. We’d rather a kid practice 10 happy minutes a day than 30 forced. The class structure does most of the heavy lifting. Home practice is for reinforcement, not survival.

5 to 13. We group by age and skill level, not strict grade.

It’s a stand-alone music program — we cover theory, voice, instrument basics, and ensemble, so you don’t need to assign anything else for music. We can share standards alignment if your co-op or umbrella school requires it.

Two formal recitals a year (winter is festive, spring is dressier) at Velocity Church, a few miles from the studio. Plus regular in-class showcases. Performance is part of how we teach. Not a stressful capstone.

Weekly during the school year. Final cadence locks in late summer — text us to be on the list when registration opens.

Yes. Hub students are part of our spring recital and an in-class showcase mid-year, plus informal performances within the program.

School band is fantastic when it’s available, but it usually starts in middle school and only covers band instruments. We start as young as zero, cover piano, guitar, ukulele, voice, and ensemble work. Our teachers specialize in young learners.
